How old do you have to be to go to clubs in Panama City Beach? On the PCB Club Card it is 18+ to enter and 21+ to drink, both with valid photo ID.

Quick answer

For the venues and parties on the PCB Club Card it is 18+ to enter with a valid photo ID and 21+ to drink with a valid photo ID, with no exceptions. Florida law sets the drinking age at 21. Other clubs in town set their own entry ages, so check the venue before you go.

Two ages, two rules

People ask “how old do you have to be for clubs in Panama City Beach” as if there is one number. There are two, and they do different jobs.

Question Age Applies to
Can I walk in? 18+ with valid photo ID The venues and parties on the PCB Club Card
Can I drink? 21+ with valid photo ID Everyone, everywhere, under Florida law

The 18+ entry age is the policy for the card’s venues and parties. It is not a Florida law that every club must follow, and other clubs in town may set a higher entry age. If you are going somewhere that is not on the card, check that venue’s own rule first.

What Florida law says about the drinking age

Two Florida statutes cover the drinking age:

  • Possession. Florida Statute 562.111 says it is unlawful for any person under 21 to possess alcoholic beverages, with an exception for people employed under section 562.13. A first conviction is a second-degree misdemeanor, and a later one is a first-degree misdemeanor.
  • Selling, giving and serving. Florida Statute 562.11 says a person may not sell, give, serve or permit to be served alcoholic beverages to anyone under 21. The same classes of misdemeanor apply.

That second point is why venues are strict about ID. A bartender who serves an under-21 guest can be charged, which is why a bracelet or a card never replaces a valid photo ID.

What this means on a spring break night

  1. Arrive with a valid photo ID, every night. No ID, no entry. Keep it with you, not in a friend’s bag.
  2. Expect your age to be checked at the door and at the bar. 18-year-olds can enter and enjoy the music, dancing and the party. They cannot drink.
  3. Do not hand drinks to friends who are under 21. The statute covers giving as well as selling.
  4. If you are 21+, bring the same ID. Entry age and drinking age are checked separately.
  5. Under 18? You do not meet the 18+ entry rule for card venues. Panama City Beach also had a curfew in 2026 for unaccompanied minors, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Our curfew page explains it.

Hotel and rental age limits are separate

Entry age at a club is not the same as the age to book a room. In 2026, local reports said only guests 21 and older could book vacation rentals in Panama City Beach. Hotels set their own policies, so check with each property. See where to stay in Panama City Beach.

How the PCB Club Card handles ages

Every card tier, Ultimate, Platinum and Fred’s Card, follows the same rule: 18+ to enter with valid photo ID, 21+ to drink with valid photo ID. No exceptions. At pickup, bring your valid photo ID and order confirmation to Hammerhead Fred’s. The full rules are on Spring Break 2027 Rules, Ages & ID, and the card tiers are on Get My Card.

Quick pre-trip checklist

  • Everyone in your group has a valid photo ID that is not expired.
  • Everyone knows who is 21+ and who is not.
  • Your plan for the under-21 members is real (day parties, the beach, 18+ events), not “we will figure it out.”
  • You have read the current city rules before you leave. DoItForBreak keeps a spring break rules post that is worth a second read.

Frequently asked questions

Can an 18-year-old go to clubs in Panama City Beach?

At the venues and parties on the PCB Club Card, yes: 18+ to enter with a valid photo ID. An 18-year-old cannot drink. Only guests 21+ with valid photo ID can drink.

What ID do I need?

Bring a valid photo ID. You also need your order confirmation to pick up your card at Hammerhead Fred’s. If you are asking about a specific ID type, such as an out-of-state license or a passport, check with the venue, because we do not list accepted ID types here.

Can I get into a club at 18 with a wristband and drink?

No. The 21+ drinking rule applies to everyone, at every venue. A wristband or card does not change the legal drinking age.

What happens if I am caught drinking under 21?

Florida law makes it unlawful for anyone under 21 to possess alcohol. A first conviction is a second-degree misdemeanor. A venue may also refuse service or entry.
