Quick answer

2027 rules are not published yet. In 2026, local reporting said alcohol was banned on the beach in Panama City Beach for March, bars closed at 2 a.m., and a curfew for people under 18 applied from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. during a high-impact period. For any 2027 date, check the City of Panama City Beach website. At our venues: 18+ to enter with valid photo ID, 21+ to drink with valid photo ID.

There is one thing to know before the details: the rules for Panama City Beach spring break change from season to season, and 2027 rules have not been published yet. What follows is what local news reported for 2026, so you know what the pattern looks like, plus the official sources you should check before you travel. Everything below is attributed to the outlet that reported it, so you can see who said what. Verify it against the city’s own pages before you travel.

The short version

  • Beach alcohol ban. In March 2026, WJHG reported that alcohol was banned on the beach in Panama City Beach for the month.
  • Bar hours. WJHG and WTVY reported that bars close, or must stop selling alcohol, at 2 a.m.
  • High-impact period. WJHG reported additional rules in high-impact zones from March 28 through April 11, 2026, including a curfew for anyone under 18 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Unaccompanied minors. WJHG reported this was a new focus and described a mobile processing center set up with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.
  • Vacation rentals. WTVY reported that only guests 21 and older could book vacation rentals.
  • Overnight beach closures. A syndicated March 2026 Fox News report, citing the city’s website, said certain sections of beach would close from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. between March 12 and April 30. Another outlet, WTVY, did not report closures. This is the item we most want you to verify with the city.

What this means for your week

Our four weeks run Feb 27 to Mar 26, 2027. If the 2026 pattern repeats, most of your trip falls in the month when the beach alcohol ban applied, which is why we say: do not plan on drinking on the sand. Only the first two days of Week 1 (Feb 27 and 28) fall outside March. Do not assume anything on those days either. Check the city’s rules.

The 2026 high-impact period started after our Week 4 would have ended, but dates can move. Read the current calendar.

Age rules at the door

Florida law sets the legal drinking age at 21, and the state treats selling or giving alcohol to someone under 21 as a serious matter. At every PCB Club Card venue:

  • 18+ to enter with valid photo ID.
  • 21+ to drink with valid photo ID.
  • No exceptions, and it applies to every card level.

Our rules, ages and ID page states it in one place. Please do not try to borrow an ID or use someone else’s. It will not work, and it can follow you.

Water closed means closed

The city uses flags for beach conditions. In 2021 WJHG reported that a double red flag means the water is closed and that swimming under it can bring a $500 fine. Fines can change, so check the current amount. Our flags and water safety guide covers every color. The Do It For Break flag explainer is another reader-friendly take.

How to check the current rules

  1. Visit the City of Panama City Beach website and look for spring break notices.
  2. Check local outlets such as WJHG for law enforcement updates.
  3. Read the venue and rental policies you agreed to.
  4. If a rule is unclear, ask a venue staff member or the property manager.

Do It For Break also keeps a PCB spring break rules post that is worth reading next to this one.

Practical advice

  • Carry your valid photo ID, and keep a photo of it separate.
  • Do not drink on the beach.
  • Do not drive after drinking. Use a rideshare or a sober driver.
  • If you are under 18, plan your night around the curfew and around who is with you.
  • Treat the rules as part of the trip plan, not as an afterthought.
